Résumé : Le Toto-Dico #1 est un livre d’artiste du blésois François Giboulet célébrant son personnage-procuration artistique surnommé Toto. Ce répertoire de mots et locutions « totoïsés » s’est forgé au cours des quarante dernières années au gré d’échanges multiples, littéraires ou iconographiques, autour d’un “Totofanclub” construit de manière informelle. Le glossaire se termine par une série d’échanges épistolaires avec Jean-Claude Moineau, théoricien de l’art, sur la notion de fanclub et l’installation du concept artistique d’easy-made (Toto easy-made).
Via sa démarche ouverte à la participation d’un public fan et à sa pratique “easy-made“, François Giboulet s’inscrit dans la lignée des artistes explorant les marges de l’art, de Fluxus à l’art singulier ou modeste. Agrégé en arts plastiques, il est l’auteur de plusieurs ouvrages sur l’histoire de la peinture et a enseigné les arts visuels à l’université d’Orléans-Tours.

Abstract: “Toto-Dico #1” is an artist's book by François Giboulet from Blois, celebrating his artistic character-procurement nicknamed Toto. This repertoire of "Toto-esque" words and phrases has been forged over the last forty years through a wide range of literary and iconographic exchanges in an informal "Totofanclub". The glossary concludes with a series of epistolary exchanges with Jean-Claude Moineau, professor of art theory, on the notion of fanclubbing and the installation of the artistic concept of easy-made (“Toto easy-made”).
François Giboulet's open approach to fan participation and his 'easy-made' practice place him in the tradition of artists exploring the margins of art, from Fluxus to singular or modest art. A qualified art teacher, he is the author of several works on the history of painting and has taught visual arts at the University of Orléans-Tours.
